Text Box: October 2008 probably due to some sort of mid life crisis!! I decided to obtain a pedigree “Old Spot” sow She duly arrived complete with 10 piglets. When the piglets were old enough, all 11 were given access to over 6 acres of field where they proceeded to run, play , eat and dig to their hearts content, they have a nice warm shelter when they want it, lots of fresh vegetables etc and water enough to drink and play in! Many were named, all were handled and played with and generally spoiled. When the time came, they were taken on a short and stress free journey . This ensures that our meat is fresh off the farm, tasty and natural, just like the old days. The Gammon and bacon is dry cured so no added water.. Yum! We then freeze the meat ready for you to enjoy. At present we have 3 flavours of sausages, back bacon, gammon stakes and gammon joints, Chops, shoulders, leg joints and belly joints. Since then, we have also added chickens, they have settled in and are starting to lay, ( these live in the same field as the pigs and they co exist very happily indeed). We are now selling their free range eggs too. All this is in addition to our Welsh mountain sheep that have lived here for over 50 years! Moonpig  now has new piglets all are doing well and having fine fun chasing the new chickens, lambs and anything they can find to play with.

We have added to our hens so now as well as the Buff Orp. We also have Black star, Bovin golden, light Sussex and other old breeds all living together.
